Teaching my son to shake hands properly

Been noticing kids these days don't know how to give a firm handshake. Started working with my 8 year old on it - firm grip, look them in the eye, say their name. My dad taught me this way back and it's stuck with me through business deals and life. Anyone else making sure their boys learn this? Feels like a dying art.

This is important stuff honestly. So many kids today have zero idea about basic etiquette. You're doing him a huge favor teaching him this now while he's young.

Love this. It's the small things that teach character. A firm handshake, eye contact, those matter more than parents realize. How is he doing with it so far?

Good call on this. My older one had the limp noodle handshake thing going on and I felt like I had to step in too. It's one of those little things that actually makes a difference when they're meeting new people.
