Been working with my 8 year old on a firm handshake and looking people in the eye when you meet them. My dad taught me this and I want to pass it on. Took him to a business networking event with me last month and he shook hands with about 15 people. The compliments I got from grown men about his manners were incredible. This stuff still matters.
That's awesome you're passing that on. My kids are still working on the eye contact part but they're getting there. It's one of those old school things that actually matters.

Love this approach. Too many kids these days get to adulthood without knowing how to meet someone properly. You're setting him up for actual success in ways he won't appreciate until later.

Teaching this stuff early is huge. My oldest is 10 now and I wish I'd started this formal stuff sooner. The eye contact and firm grip thing is going to help him so much with teachers and coaches.
