Teaching my son to shake hands properly
Been working with my 12 year old on his handshake. Not just the grip but the whole thing - eye contact, firm but not crushing, quick pump, genuine smile. We practiced before his school's career day event and when he came home he said some of the visiting professionals complimented him on it. Made me proud honestly. These little things matter. A man's word and his handshake used to mean everything and I think we've lost something by not teaching the next generation these fundamentals. Gonna keep hammering home stuff like this while he's young.
That's the right approach. A lot of parents don't teach that stuff anymore but it matters. The eye contact piece especially shows confidence. Your son's gonna stand out when he gets older.
