Teaching my son to shake hands properly

Took my 8 year old to a business dinner last week and he gave the weakest handshake I've ever felt. We've been working on it all week now. firm grip, eye contact, one pump. He's getting better but man it's embarrassing when he meets someone and limps his hand out like a wet noodle. Anyone else dealing with this or am I just being old fashioned about it?

Haha, love that you caught it early and are actually coaching him through it. Eight is the perfect age to teach that stuff before it becomes a bad habit. Keep at it.

Good call working on that with him. A solid handshake makes a real impression and it's one of those little things that sticks with them. Once it becomes habit he'll do it automatically.
