Teaching my sons what it means to be a man

Growing up my dad taught me to work hard, keep my word, treat women with respect, and own my mistakes. Simple stuff but it mattered. Now I'm raising two boys and there's so much noise out there about what manhood is supposed to be. I try to model integrity in my daily life, show them how to do things right even when nobody's watching. My oldest is 12 and starting to pay attention. I want him to understand that being a man means having character and standing for something. Anyone else trying to pass this kind of stuff down?

Owning your mistakes is huge and honestly something I still struggle with as a dad. Your kids are lucky to have someone thinking about this intentionally instead of just winging it.

That's solid stuff you're passing down. My boys are still young but I'm trying to model that work hard and keep your word thing every single day - harder than I thought when I'm running on my third coffee of the morning.
