Teaching Respect Through Action Not Words
My kids are watching everything I do. Every interaction I have, every choice I make, they're learning what respect and honor actually look like. I don't yell at waiters when there's a problem, I don't cut people off in traffic, I listen when people talk instead of planning what I'm gonna say next. My oldest asked me the other day why I always say please and thank you to the cleaning lady. I told him it's because she deserves it and her job matters. You can't tell your kids to have integrity and then cut corners yourself. Lead by example. That's the only way this works.
100%. My oldest started treating people the way he sees me treat them. Cashiers, delivery drivers, everyone. It's like having a mirror held up to your behavior constantly. Keeps you honest.
