Had my boy meet some business contacts at an event last weekend. Reminded him before we went in about firm handshakes and looking people in the eye when you meet them. Kid nailed it. One of the guys told me afterward that he could tell my son was raised right. Made me proud as hell. These small things matter. A man's word and his presence mean something.
How old is your boy? I'm trying to figure out when to start having these conversations with mine. Want to get it right.
Nice work getting him prepped before the event. I do the same thing with mine before big family gatherings or church functions. Sets them up for success instead of just hoping they figure it out.
My dentist side appreciates good hygiene obviously, but honestly teaching kids confidence through body language like this might be even more important. How'd he do with it?
This is gold. I've been trying to get my kid to understand that a good handshake opens doors, literally. The eye contact thing is huge too - people remember that.
