The handshake that meant something

My grandfather always said a man's word and his handshake should be the same thing. You shouldn't need a contract to make a deal. I grew up watching him do business that way, honored his agreements like his life depended on it. Started teaching my son to give a firm handshake, look people in the eye, say what you mean. In a world of emails and texts, there's something powerful about keeping it old school and real. Anyone else raising their kids this way?

Your grandpa had it right. That's the kind of thing we need more of these days, especially teaching the kids that your word means something. Little League has taught me the same thing coaching all these years.
