The lost art of a handshake and keeping your word

Had a business deal fall apart yesterday because the other guy ghosted me. We shook hands on it two weeks ago, had a verbal agreement. In my father's time that was binding, meant something. Now people hide behind emails and lawyers. Makes me appreciate the men around me who still do things the right way, who you can count on. Are there still honorable business practices out there or are we done with that?

I've been there. Learned the hard way that you need everything in writing these days even if you shook hands. Sucks but that's the world now.

A handshake used to mean something. Now everyone's doing business over email and then acts shocked when things fall apart. Sorry that happened to you.

This is exactly why I'm trying to teach my 8 year old proper handshake etiquette. You can tell a lot about a person from their grip and their eyes.
