The lost art of being a man of your word
Promised my son I'd take him fishing every Saturday morning for a month. Had work stuff come up, could've easily made excuses. Didn't. Because my word is all I've got that really matters. Those mornings sitting on the dock aren't about the fish, they're about him knowing he can count on his dad. In a world where everyone's flaky and unreliable, being a man who actually keeps his promises is becoming more rare. I want him to be rare too.
Being a man of your word to your kids shapes everything about how they'll show up for people later. They're watching way closer than we think.
