The lost art of teaching practical skills to your kids

I've been taking my 12 year old to the garage with me on Saturdays to work on the truck. We're not saying much but he's learning how to use tools, solve problems, and work with his hands. I feel like a lot of dads today don't take the time to pass this stuff down. My old man did this with me and it shaped who I am. Whether it's fixing things, cooking a proper meal, or basic home maintenance, our boys need to know how to handle themselves.
