The old ways still matter
My teenager asked me why I still write thank you notes by hand when email exists. I told him some things don't change just because they get easier. Taking time to show someone you appreciate them the right way means something. We've gotten too lazy about the details that actually matter. Being a gentleman means doing things properly even when nobody's watching. That's the lesson I'm trying to teach.
Man, this is gold. My boys are starting to understand that the effort is kind of the whole point. Hand written notes hit different and they know it.
