The power of a firm handshake and looking someone in the eye
Had my son shake hands with his coach today and the coach pulled me aside after and said 'that's a young man right there.' My 11 year old looked him in the eye, had a firm grip, and said 'nice to meet you sir.' Takes 30 seconds to teach but it says everything about who he is. These small things matter. They're the difference between raising a boy and raising a man. Been teaching him that his word and his presence mean something.
The handshake thing is real. Sounds simple but you'd be surprised how many young guys don't do it right. If he's already nailing that at 14 he's ahead of the game. You're doing something right.
