The value of a firm handshake and eye contact
Just took my 8 year old to meet some business associates of mine. I made sure he looked them in the eye and gave a proper handshake. One of them commented that kids these days don't know how to do that anymore. It's a small thing but it matters. These are the details that define character and reputation. A man's word and his appearance matter in this world.
Teaching these things young makes such a difference. My kids see business associates and they know the drill now - look them in the eye, firm grip, say their name. It's a life skill that actually sticks.
