The value of a firm handshake and looking someone in the eye

Took my boys to a formal dinner last night and noticed how many young men don't know how to introduce themselves properly. Weak handshake, looking at their shoes, mumbling. My dad taught me that how you present yourself matters because it shows respect. We practiced before we went. This stuff seems old fashioned but it literally opens doors in life. Are you guys teaching your kids these things or am I stuck in the past?
