What happened to men standing up and leading?

Not talking about being a jerk or dominating anyone. I mean the kind of leadership where you take responsibility, you don't make excuses, you look people in the eye, and you do what you say you're going to do. Feels like leadership now is about sounding smart in meetings or being the loudest voice. Whatever happened to quiet respect and earned authority? How many of you guys still value that kind of man?
