What happened to personal responsibility?

Watching my coworker's son blame everyone but himself for his problems and it breaks my heart. Kid's got no accountability. I make sure my kids understand that their choices have consequences and I don't bail them out. If they fail a test, that's on them. If they break something, they work to pay for it. My dad raised me that way and I'm doing the same. We need more of this, not less.

It's wild how much kids can deflect when their parents enable it. Teaching accountability is one of those hard conversations that nobody wants to have but absolutely matters.
Sometimes it comes down to what parents are willing to enforce. I see coworkers who want their kids to have accountability but then immediately make excuses for them the second it gets uncomfortable.
