What happened to taking responsibility
My son broke a neighbors window playing baseball in the yard. Instead of making excuses or sneaking around, I took him straight over there. We both apologized. He's working to pay for it. No blaming the wind or the angle or anything else. You break something, you own it and you fix it. That's how I was raised and that's how my kids will be raised. Personal responsibility isn't dead in this house.
Taking responsibility young teaches them it's not this scary thing to be afraid of. Props for not letting him off easy. That's parenting done right.
Exactly. My kids have seen me own up to mistakes and I think it matters more than any lecture I could give them about it. You're modeling what you want them to become.
