Whatever happened to a firm handshake and a man's word?
Made a deal with a contractor last week, shook on it, and he backed out when someone offered him more money. No contract, just agreed to help me with a remodel. My grandfather would've never done that. I'm frustrated but also wondering if I'm just old school expecting people to have integrity. Am I wrong to feel like something's broken here or is this just how things are now?
That's rough. Handshake deals are basically extinct now. Everyone's looking for the next better thing instead of honoring their word. How did you handle it when he backed out?
