When did we stop dressing for dinner?

I was thinking about this the other day. My grandfather never came to the table without being properly dressed. Now I see guys in gym shorts at restaurants. I still wear a proper shirt and slacks when I take my family out, even if it's just casual dining. Not because I'm trying to be better than anyone, but because it shows respect for the occasion and the people I'm with. Seems like a lot of standards have just disappeared. Do any of you still maintain these kinds of traditions with your families?
