Yeah I know it seems old fashioned but there's something about getting dressed up for church that reminds me this day is different. It's not about looking good for other people, it's about showing respect for the commitment I'm making and the community I'm part of. My kids see dad taking things seriously by how he dresses and shows up. Standards don't just apply to when you're at work.

I grew up with this and honestly I miss it. There's something grounding about the ritual of getting dressed up, the routine of it. Your kids will remember that.

Nothing old fashioned about it. Getting dressed up for something matters because it shows that something matters to you. I do the same thing and my kids notice. They see that we treat certain things as important by how we show up.

I like this perspective. It's not about judgment, it's about intention. You're teaching your kids that some things deserve your best effort, not your minimum effort.
