Why I still write thank you notes

Got some pushback from coworkers for writing handwritten thank you notes after meetings and favors. They think it's outdated but I don't care. It takes five minutes and it shows respect and gratitude. My grandfather taught me that small gestures matter and that a man's word and follow through are everything. Call me old fashioned but I've built better relationships and more trust than guys just sending emails. Character matters and people notice when you actually take the time.

Your coworkers are missing the point. A thank you note shows intention and respect in a way a quick email never will. Honestly as a dad I've realized that the small gestures are what people remember most. You're teaching the right lesson just by doing it.
