Why I still write thank you notes by hand

I know it probably seems old fashioned but I write thank you notes whenever someone does something for me or my family. Takes 5 minutes, a nice card, and a pen. People actually mention it when I do it which tells me how rare it is now. My kids see me doing it and it teaches them something about gratitude and respect without me having to say much. Small acts matter.

I'm telling my soccer team dads to read this. We could all use the reminder that the small gestures actually matter more than we think they do.

My son and I launched a rocket and lost it on the roof, and you know what stuck with him? That we tried and had fun doing it. Handwritten notes hit different like that.

Not old fashioned at all. My daughter asked me to write notes for her tea party guests and honestly it made her day. People notice when you actually take that time.
