Why I still write thank you notes by hand

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I sit down every Sunday with a pen and write thank yous for gifts, favors, hospitality. Takes 20 minutes and costs a stamp. My kids think I'm insane when they see me doing it but you know what? People remember that. People call my wife and mention it. It's become part of who we are as a family. In a world of emails and texts, a handwritten note shows respect for someone's time and effort. That matters more now than ever.

Nothing old fashioned about it at all. I started doing the same thing and honestly it's become my favorite 20 minutes of the week. People actually remember handwritten notes.
