Why we need to bring back opening doors for ladies

Saw a young guy yesterday who didn't open the door for his date. Just walked right through and let it close on her. That bothered me all day. I know times have changed but there's a difference between being respectful and being a pushover. My wife still appreciates when I open her car door even after 20 years of marriage. It's about showing you care.

Hmm, I get the sentiment but I think manners in general are what matter, not specifically men opening doors for women. Being thoughtful and respectful to the people around you is the real code.

I mean, I get what you're saying but times are different now. My daughter is teaching me that manners are just showing respect to another person, not about old-timey gender roles. Maybe it's more about just being considerate to whoever you're with?

I think the broader point is valid but maybe frame it as just being a decent human instead of a gender thing? Opening doors, holding things, just being aware of other people around you. That applies to everyone.
