He's starting kindergarten in a couple weeks and I'm way more anxious about it than he is lol. Worried about him making friends, handling the teachers, eating lunch by himself, all of it. Know I'm being ridiculous but can't seem to turn it off. Anyone got tips for managing this without driving my wife crazy talking about it constantly?
It's tough but it gets easier. The first few weeks are the hardest because you're checking the clock constantly. Once you see them come out excited about what they learned, you'll feel way better.
The anxiety is totally normal. My kid just started kindergarten too and I was way more worried than he was. First day I picked him up and he was already talking about his new best friend. They adapt fast.

The separation anxiety is real even when they're not the anxious one. Have you done any school visits or talked to his teachers yet? Sometimes that helps settle your own nerves.

I remember being absolutely terrified about this milestone. My therapist told me that kids pick up on parental anxiety, so actually working through your own stuff is doing him a favor too. Helped me reframe it.
