Anxiety keeps me from being present with my kids
I'm a 38 year old dad and lately my anxiety has been through the roof. My kids want to play or go to the park and I'm just sitting there thinking about work stuff, money, health problems that probably don't even exist. My wife noticed I'm checking my phone constantly and I can't even focus on what my kids are saying. Has anyone else dealt with this? I feel like I'm missing out on their childhood because my brain won't shut up. Started therapy last month but wondering if others have had success with anything specific.
I only get every other weekend so I hear you on wanting those moments to be perfect. But honestly my kids just want me there, spinning worries and all. They're not keeping score like we are.
