Anyone else feel lonely even when surrounded by people?

I've got a house full of kids, wife, friends, coworkers. But there's this weird emptiness that hits me sometimes. Like I'm just performing the role of dad instead of actually being present. Hard to explain to people because on the surface everything looks fine. Just wondering if this is normal or if I need to actually talk to someone about it. Feels weird being honest about this.
