Anyone else feel lonely even with family around?

This is gonna sound weird but I love my wife and kids more than anything. But sometimes I feel like nobody really knows me, you know? Like I'm just the guy who fixes stuff, makes money, and handles whatever comes up. Not complaining about my life just wondering if other dads feel this way sometimes. Like you're surrounded by people but also kind of alone in your own head.

Not weird at all man. I felt this a lot in the first year after my son was born. You're constantly in caretaker mode so you forget to actually connect with people on a deeper level. The loneliness kind of sneaks up on you.

It's the dad paradox right? You're surrounded by people who need you but nobody really knows what's going on in your head. I started going for walks alone and that helped. Just 20 minutes to myself made a difference.
