Anyone else get panic attacks when their kid gets sick?

My 4 year old woke up with a fever this morning and I immediately spiraled. Started thinking worst case scenarios, googled everything, felt my chest tighten. Wife had to basically talk me down for 20 minutes. Kid is fine, probably just a cold, but I feel exhausted now. Is this normal dad anxiety or should I talk to someone about it? This happens almost every time one of them gets ill.

Man, I'm only six weeks in and already had some panic moments. You're not alone in that, but it sounds like you're managing it better than your brain's telling you.

That spiraling feeling is so real. A fever and suddenly your brain is running worst case scenarios on repeat. Just remember most fevers are your kid's immune system doing its job, even though it doesn't feel that way in the moment.
