Burnout is real and I'm in it
Current situation:
- Work: insane deadline, understaffed team
- Home: wife's mom visiting (in our guest room)
- Kids: 5, 7, both need new school stuff
- Me: running on fumes
I haven't had a day off in 3 weeks. I'm snapping at everything, forgetting stuff, just generally a mess. Wife keeps saying "it'll pass" but honestly I don't think I can wait for it to pass. How do people actually step back and breathe?
That's a lot happening at once. The mother-in-law in the house situation alone is enough to stress anyone out, throw on top of work chaos and yeah, burnout city. Have you been able to get even one night to yourself?
Real talk, you need to tell your wife you're hitting a wall. Not in a blame way, just so she knows to cut you some slack on other stuff while work is insane. Most wives will dial back expectations if they know you're struggling.
