Depression makes parenting feel impossible some days
There are mornings I wake up and the thought of getting the kids ready for school and pretending to be okay just feels like too much. I'm not suicidal or anything but I feel empty, unmotivated, like I'm just going through motions. My kids need more than what I can give them right now. Started therapy last month and it's helping a bit but some days are still really dark. Just putting this out there to see if anyone else is dealing with depression while trying to be present for their kids. It's lonely.
This hits different. I've had mornings like that and the guilt that comes after, like you're failing your kids, just makes it worse. But here's the thing: getting out of bed on those days IS doing enough. Showing up even when you're struggling is the hard part. Have you reached out to anyone about this?
