Depression making it hard to be present with the family

Going through a rough stretch with depression and I feel like I'm going through the motions with my wife and kids. Like I'm physically there but mentally I'm somewhere else and I feel like they can tell. I hate that I'm not the dad they deserve right now. Started seeing someone about it but just wanted to know if anyone else has been in this place and how you pulled out of it.
