Feeling isolated even though I'm surrounded by family

This is weird to admit but I feel really lonely a lot of the time. I've got my wife, the kids, and I see my family regularly but there's this empty feeling that I can't shake. I think it's because I don't really have close friendships anymore. Most of my buddies drifted after we had kids and I never made new ones to replace them. Anyone else experienced this? Trying to figure out if it's depression or just circumstance.

It's not weird at all. I'm surrounded by my boys constantly but there's definitely times I feel like I'm running on empty. You're not alone in feeling that.

That empty feeling hits different when you're in the thick of it with family all around. Maybe it's about finding a small thing that's just for you.

I felt similar for a while until I realized I needed to make space for myself too, not just my family. It's not selfish, it's necessary.
