Finally told my dad I'm depressed and he said "join the club"

Not helpful lol. He's old school, thinks you just work through it. But at least I said it out loud to someone I'm related to which feels like something. Has anyone else had to basically redefine their relationship with a parent because they're not gonna be your support person? It's weird accepting that.
