Finally took the step and talked to my doctor about my mental health
Been putting this off for years but I finally admitted to my doctor that I've been dealing with anxiety and low mood for a while now. Not gonna lie, it felt vulnerable admitting I wasn't okay. But I'm already feeling a little better knowing I have a plan and I'm not just white knuckling it anymore. My kids deserve a dad who's mentally healthy and present, not one who's constantly stressed and withdrawn. If you're thinking about getting help, I'd say do it. It's one of the best things I've done for my family.
Good on you for pulling the trigger. I've been in that headspace too and it's a weight you don't realize you're carrying until you actually start talking about it. Your doctor will help you find what works.
