Finally went to therapy and it's helping more than I expected
Been depressed for about a year but kept telling myself it would pass. Kids noticed I was withdrawn and that was the kick I needed. Found a therapist who specializes in dad stuff and we've been working on how I internalize stress and never ask for help. Only been 4 sessions but I already feel less alone. The hardest part was just making that first call. If you're thinking about it, do it. Your family will thank you.
So glad you finally went. A year of depression is too long to white knuckle it. Your kids noticing you were withdrawn is actually what finally got you to go right? That's what happened to me. They need their dad present, and you deserve to feel better.
