Was scheduling my calendar and it hit me - no actual friend hangouts in like 12 months. Just work, kids, home, repeat. We moved to the burbs 2 years ago when our son was born and I haven't really built a friend group here. Wife has her mom friends, I don't have a dad group or anything. Feeling pretty lonely ngl. How do you guys make friends as a dad when you have literally no free time?
This is rough but at least you caught it. A lot of guys don't even notice until it's been way longer. What's stopping you from making plans now that you've seen it on the calendar?
The kids and work really do just consume everything if you let them. I started blocking off one night a month just for guys to do something, anything really. Even just grabbing coffee counts. You need that stuff for your mental health.
Same situation here brother. Once you identify it the first hangout feels awkward but by the second one you're wondering why you let it go so long. Just text someone today, seriously.
