Loneliness hit different after becoming a dad

Anyone else feel completely alone even though you're surrounded by people all day? I love my kids and my wife but I feel like I lost all my friends. Everyone else seems to have figured out the dad thing but I'm still here feeling lost. Can't remember the last time I had a real conversation with another adult that wasn't about potty training or mortgage rates. Trying to figure out how to build community as a dad without feeling like I'm neglecting my family.

It's real. Even when you're in a room full of people who depend on you, you can still feel completely alone. That's why finding even 10 minutes for yourself every day matters so much.
The parenting paradox. You wanted this, you love your kids, and somehow you're still lonely. Been talking to my therapist about this a lot lately. You're not alone in feeling alone, which sounds weird but somehow helps.
