Loneliness is hitting different now that I'm older
Most of my friendships kind of faded once I got married and had kids. Now I'm realizing I'm pretty isolated and it's affecting my mental health more than I thought it would. My wife is great but she can't be my only person. Trying to figure out how to build friendships as a middle aged dad when you're basically working and parenting all the time. Anyone have advice on this?
Same boat here with three kids and split custody. What helped me was realizing I had to be intentional about staying connected, almost like scheduling it the way I do bedtime. Even grabbing a beer with one buddy every couple weeks made a real difference.
