Loneliness is real even with a family
Anyone else feel lonely even though you're surrounded by people? I'm a dad, I have a wife, three kids, full time job. On paper I should be fine. But some nights after everyone's asleep I just feel this heavy loneliness. Like nobody really sees me as a person, just as dad, just as the guy who pays bills. I love my family more than anything but there's something missing. I don't have close guy friends anymore, everyone moved away after college. Just venting I guess.
Yeah absolutely. With three kids and a wife I should never be lonely but sometimes I am. I think it's because you can't really talk about the hard dad stuff with your family sometimes, you know? Like you have to stay in dad mode. Finding this forum and talking to other guys about it has actually helped more than I expected.
