Lonely even when surrounded by people

Got home from a work event tonight and felt completely isolated even though I was chatting with people all evening. My wife asked how it went and I couldn't even explain this feeling. I have friends, I have family, but something feels missing. Started journaling about it and wondering if I should talk to someone. Is this depression or am I just broken? Anyone else experience this kind of loneliness?

Been there with the coparenting situation and sometimes I realize I'm performing social stuff while my head's somewhere else entirely. The fact that you're noticing it and talking about it is actually a good thing though.

That feeling hits different man. I get it after work events too - you can be talking to people the whole time and still feel completely disconnected. Sounds like your wife caught onto something real there.
