Quick question - online therapy vs in-person?
Insurance covers both. Haven't done therapy before so not sure which would be easier to stick with. In-person means driving somewhere, scheduling around kids' stuff. Online means I can do it from home but also means less barrier to canceling. What's worked better for you guys?
Went in-person for first 6 months then switched to online because of kid schedules. Honestly? I focus better in-person but online fits my life better. Maybe do in-person for like 3-4 sessions to get the feel for therapy itself, then switch to online once you know what you're doing?
This is actually a good question for whoever does your intake call. Tell them you're worried about the canceling thing and ask if they've seen that pattern with other clients. Some therapists are stricter about no-shows which might help you stay accountable.
