Started therapy and holy crap why didn't I do this sooner
Been dealing with low level depression for like 5 years thinking it was just what being a dad felt like. Turns out I actually have depression and it's treatable. My therapist helped me see that I don't have to be perfect and that asking for help isn't weak it's actually the smartest thing I can do for my family. Still weird to talk about my feelings out loud but I'm sleeping better and not snapping at my kids over nothing. 10/10 would recommend.
Proud of you for doing this. Took me way too long to realize that low level exhaustion and feeling numb all the time wasn't just part of the job description. How many sessions in are you?
