Started therapy and honestly changed my perspective on everything
I was resistant to therapy for years. Felt like admitting I needed help meant I was broken or something. Finally went to my doctor and asked for a referral because I was having constant tension headaches and couldn't sleep. Turns out a lot of my physical stuff was stress and anxiety related. Been seeing a therapist for 3 months now and I feel like a completely different person. I'm actually present with my kids instead of just physically there. Wish I'd done this sooner. If you're on the fence about it, just try it. No shame in taking care of your mental health.
This is huge. I've been thinking about doing the same thing but keep telling myself I don't really need it. How long did it take before you started seeing real changes in how you approach stuff?
