Started therapy and honestly it's helping
Been going to a therapist for about 3 months now after my doctor recommended it. I was pretty skeptical at first, thought it was a waste of money. But talking to someone neutral about stuff I can't tell my wife or buddies has actually made a difference. The anxiety is still there but I feel like I have tools to deal with it now. Just wanted to throw this out there in case anyone else is on the fence about trying it.
Same skepticism when I started but it genuinely helped me figure out stuff I didn't realize was affecting how I parent. A few months in and I'm way less reactive with my kids. Worth pushing through that initial weirdness of talking to someone.
How many sessions before you felt like it was actually helping? I'm considering it but worried it'll be a waste of money.
