Started therapy and realized I've been depressed for years
I went in thinking I just needed to talk about work stress but my therapist asked some questions and I broke down. Apparently what I thought was just 'being tired all the time' and 'losing interest in stuff' is depression. I'm 42 and apparently didn't realize this was happening. Starting meds next week. Feeling weird about it but also kind of relieved that there's actually a name for why everything feels heavy. Anyone else discover it later in life?
That's huge that you went in and actually let yourself be open to what came up. Depression is sneaky like that, you think it's just stress or being tired but it's deeper. Proud of you for taking that step.
