Taking a mental health day
Called out of work today and just took the day for myself. No kids, no job, no one asking me for anything. Went for a run, sat at a coffee shop alone for a couple hours, took a nap. It's amazing how much better I feel after just one day where I wasn't trying to be everything to everyone. Why is it so hard to do this regularly without feeling guilty?
This is brave to post about and I respect it. So many dads just push through until something breaks. Taking a mental health day is the opposite of weakness.
