Taking care of yourself isn't selfish
Been trying to normalize taking a night to myself every couple weeks. Go for a walk, hit the gym, read without someone asking me for something. At first I felt guilty but my therapist helped me see that I'm a better dad and husband when I'm taking care of my mental health. You can't pour from an empty cup. Anyone else struggle with this?
This needs to be said more. I was drowning trying to be everything to everyone until I just started taking Wednesday nights. Gym, walk, whatever. Changed how I show up for my family the rest of the time.
