Took a mental health day yesterday and it changed my perspective
I've been running on fumes for like 3 months. Work was crazy, kids were crazy, wife was stressed, I was just constantly in survival mode. Yesterday I just told everyone I needed to sit this one out. Took the day completely off, didn't do anything productive, just existed for a bit. Read a book, went for a walk, didn't check my email. I woke up today feeling like a different person. Not magically fixed but like I remember what it feels like to breathe. If you're burned out I'm telling you it's worth taking a day. Your family will survive a day without you being 'on'.
Man, I'm really glad you took that day. Six months in and I can already feel the pressure building, so hearing that a mental health day actually helped is encouraging. How are you feeling today?
